As UBB's biggest fundraising event of the year, our 2017 GALA promises
to be an inspiring and rewarding evening. Friends, supporters, student alumni, and volunteers will come together to share their passion for UBB -- all celebrating the stewardship, leadership, and community of learning that UBB has cultivated inside and outside prison walls for over 12 years.
We hope you will join us!
INVITED KEYNOTE SPEAKER: ADAM FOSS,
Adam is a former assistant district attorney in the Juvenile Division of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston, Massachusetts, and a fierce advocate for criminal justice reform and the importance of the role of the prosecutor in ending mass incarceration. Most recently, the Mandela Foundation recognized Mr. Foss as the 2017 Nelson Mandela Changemaker of the Year. In February of 2016, Foss delivered a TED talk that has already eclipsed 2 million views.

THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS
UBB provides post-secondary education to the men incarcerated at the Monroe Correctional Complex in Monroe, WA. Founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2005, UBB was the first program to offer college instruction at the Washington State Reformatory after the legislature prohibited public funding of prison college programs in 1995.
The mission of UBB is to empower prisoners to fulfill their potential through communities of higher learning that transcend prison walls.
